A two-day long workshop on 'Industrial Automation'

IEEE IIUC Student Branch & IEEE IIUC WIE Affinity Group jointly organized a two day-long workshop on ‘Industrial Automation’ on 19th-20th April, 2017.

Automation is the process of controlling all things in the product, including the production and quality control of the product, instead of humans. Due to the physical limitations & the ability to control the continuous and potential maximum quality control by applying the power of the machine, the demand for industrial automation is increasing day by day. For the extra cost of manpower recruitment in the industries, global automation is expanding at a very fast pace.
Sponsored by Walton Bangladesh Laptop Project, in the two day-long workshop, the first day began with the greetings of Mr. Md. Bakiuzzaman, chairperson, IEEE IIUC Student Branch. The Total number of participants were 250, among them 75 was IEEE member & 54 female participants.

In the 1st day, the Keynote speaker was Mr. Md. Abdullah Al Jubaer, Asst. Manager, Akij Food & Beverages Ltd. (Ex-IIUCIAN, Dept. of EEE). He discussed on basic work of Automation Software & trained the participants by hand. Besides, he also discussed about ‘Human-Machine Interference’ & Building Management System. Finally, He showed the LSIS Automation kit to the participants of the workshop.
In the Inauguration day, the chief guest was the renowned physicist, Professor Dr. A K M Azharul Islam, Honorable Vice-Chancellor of the University along with Special Guest Dr. Md. Monirul Islam, Dean, Faculty of Science & Engineering and the program was presided by the honorable IEEE IIUC SB Counselor Mr. Md. Athar Uddin, Associate Professor, Chairman, Dept. of EEE, IIUC.

The last day keynote speaker was Ex-Buetian & ‘Robotics and Automation’ expert Engr. Abul Al Arabi, Lecturer, Dept. of EEE, Independent University Bangladesh. In his student life, he possesses remarkable achievements in robotics inside and outside the country. He shared the experience and the details of the each item of Automation with the participants. 

In the closing Ceremony, the Chief Guest was Honorable Dean, Professor Md. Monirul Islam along with Special Guest Engr. Md. Liakat Ali, IT Head, Walton Bangladesh and Manager of Walton Laptop Project. He is also a former student of IIUC. The Honorable President of the program Engr. Md. Athar Uddin expressed his gratitude to the guests and organizers of the program. Finally, the ceremony of the successful two days long workshop on ‘Industrial Automation’ was ended by the speech of IEEE IIUC SB Chairperson Mr. Md. Bakiuzzaman.
